Missing Google Photos?

Are you not seeing all of your Google Photos in Pixfolio?

Here are common reasons why your photos may not be displaying inside Pixfolio.

  1. Ensure your photos are uploaded to the Google Photos website

First, check https://photos.google.com and verify your photos are on the website for your account.

If the photos are on your phone, the Google Photos app needs time to upload the photos. The website then needs time to index the photos before they show under the year. The photos must be on the online Google Photos website for Pixfolio to see the photos.

  1. Allow up to 30 minutes for Google to index photos

If you’re viewing photos by year in Pixfolio, Google can take up to 30 minutes to index the photos and make them available to the app for that year. This is annoying. Adding the photos to albums will bypass this delay and allow you to see the photos immediately.

  1. Videos may take a long time to transcode

Google can also take a long time to transcode videos and make them available for playback after upload. This will typically depend on how long the video is and how busy Google’s servers are, but allow 30 minutes for videos to be processed and ready.

  1. Ensure your albums contain less than 2000 photos

Google limits the app to reading the first 2000 photos of each album. If you have more than this, divide the album into albums of 2000 photos. The app can display 750 albums, so this allows a total of 1,500,000 photos in the app.

The photos that comprise the first 2000 photos in an album depends on the album’s sort order. Reversing the album’s sort order on the Google Photos website will reverse Pixfolio from reading the first 2000 photos to the last 2000 photos. This may allow you to see the photos you want without dividing the album.

If the above does not help, please write to me at [email protected] so I can help solve the problem. I want you to see your photos. That is the purpose of my apps and my job and I’d love to help you get it working.

Thanks,

Brian
