Amazon will ask “Are you still watching?” on some Amazon Fire TVs whenever any app runs without interruption for 4 hours. Note that I’ve seen this timer appear in as little as 1 hour.
If the timer runs out without selecting “Yes, continue watching”, the Fire TV will return to the home screen.
To run continuous slideshows, you must to turn that setting OFF.
- Go into the Fire TV Settings
- Go to Preferences
- Go to Data Usage Monitoring
- Turn the Still Watching preference to OFF
This will stop Amazon from switching to the home screen and putting the device to sleep.
