My apps are not compatible with the new SELECT version of the Fire TV Stick since Amazon ships a completely new operating system on this device. It ships with Vega OS instead of Android, meaning it will only run Vega OS apps.
Most apps in the Amazon app store are Android apps and will not be installable on this device, since they would need to be completely rewritten to work on Vega OS. As you can imagine, that is a lot of work. I will not be rewriting my apps and will not be supporting Vega OS in any way.
I recommend you buy a Onn from Wal-mart or a Google TV streamer from Google. They are more capable, sometimes cheaper, and will still run Android apps like mine. I would avoid the SELECT version of the Amazon Fire TV unless you want only the “essential experience” (their marketing for this device) that leaves you with only the “essential” big name apps and no others.
